Abstract

The N-alkylation of O-tosyloxazoline 1 and a pyrazole compound 2 in the presence of KOH as base in
DMSO at 80°C leads to the formation of the compound 4-[(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl]-4-methyl-2-phenyl-
4,5-dihydrooxazole 3. The structure of the synthesized compound was established on the basis of
NMR spectroscopy (1H, 13C) and MS data. The synthesized product was tested in vitro for
antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria (S. aureus, B. subtilis,
Streptococcus, P. aeruginosa, E. coli).
