Abstract

Amino acids (AAs) are molecules containing an amine group(NH2), a carboxylic acid group(R-C=OOH)
and a side-chain( usually denoted as R) that varies between different amino acids. The key
elements of an amino acid (AA) are carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen. These simple molecules
play an important role in the human body. They are particularly important in biochemistry, where the
term usually refers to alpha-amino acids.
