A protocol for in vitro regeneration and flowering was established in Physalis minima L. High frequency and maximum number of multiple shoots were obtained from leaf as well as stem explants on M.S medium supplemented with 3.0 mg/l BAP & 0.5 mg/l NAA. Regenerated shoots rooted on M.S liquid medium supplemented with 0.1 � 1.0 mg/l IAA and simultaneously flowered in the micro shoots. In vitro flowers set viable seeds. Rooted plants were transferred to polycups containing sterilized soil and vermiculite in the ratio of 1:1 and subsequently transferred to green house after acclimatization with 90% survival. All the flowers were normal and the seeds germinated into normal plantlets. Regenerated plants resemble the parent plants morphologically and cytologically.
